Wither Warriors?

Why do I keep watching the Golden State Warriors?  I mean, they suck.  The new regime of Lacob/Guber are  both acting like they just bought the Hope diamond.  Gee, look at what we spent $450 mil on.  Isn't it all nice and shiny and pretty?
News flash, guys.....no, it's not any of these things.  In fact, this team stinks so bad, my wife wondered what that awful  smell was coming out of the TV last night.  Coach Smart? Please, no discussion is necessary here. Suffice it to say he was a transition piece. Kind of like your soon to be ex-mother in law after your divorce is final.  You have to be nice to her, but just for awhile longer. The players?  Come on.  Who is really worth building a team around?  Ellis for sure. Not sure about Steph..very up and down, but worth saving.  DWright is a keeper as well.  After that, it's grubs aplenty. Biedrins looks like he plays with one eye shut, DLee is an $80 mil marshmellow, and Udoh and BWright play like headless pogosticks.
Not much to write home about.  The Golden Staters are on their way to yet another year of bottom-feeding.  Time to find a new way to torture myself for two hours.

Harbaugh as Savior?

So the Forty Niners finally have their man.  As evidenced by yesterdays news conference at the Palace hotel in SF, they put on display their new peacock for all to observe.  He sure looks impressive.  Tall, good looking, confident...definitely confident...appearing very, shall we say, unshakeable.
Have we seen this performance before?  Before you can say "We want winners!" everyone in the room is thinking the same thing..i.e., flashes of Singletary zipping through their minds.  The shibboleths kept  flowing out of Harbaugh's square-jawed, steely eyed, I'm going to take you to the promised land, losing is not an option,  monolithic self.   Damn, he sure sounds convincing.  Not even going home to dinner tonight, but straight to 4949 to start plying his trade.  Wow!  Is this guy for real?
Hard to say...Boy, Jim we REALLY want to believe you.  All these years with Erickson, Nolan, and how can we forget Sing?  Loser, loser, and big loser.  The stars are now finally aligned for Jed and his minions as well.  No longer will he cringe when people discuss the 49ers of yore and the five Super Bowl trophys collecting dust in Santa Clara.  Jed can rejoice for he has found his Moses.  Right? Right?
Maybe. Maybe not.  The proof, they say, is in the proverbial pudding.  Whether Harbaugh is THE guy remains to be seen.  Is he the reincarnation of Lombardi, Landry, Walsh, et al, or just another loud mouthed, pushy lout like Nolan and Singletary?  Tick tock, Jim, you're on the clock.
